Duke HomeCare & Hospice nurses can profoundly and positively affect the lives of their patients, providing the highest quality hospice, home health and infusion care services. Hospice care is offered to terminally ill patients in their home, or at skilled-nursing or assisted-living facilities, as well as at our six-bed inpatient facility in Hillsborough, North Carolina. A 12-bed inpatient care facility in Durham is expected to open in early 2009. Home health services are available to patients who are homebound and in need of nursing services and/or physical therapy, speech therapy, or occupational therapy. Infusion services are provided at home or at work for individuals who need intravenous therapy.

Patient Population:
The Duke Hospice Wake County office is a satellite office conveniently located on the Duke Health Raleigh Hospital campus, serving hospice patients in the Wake County region. Patients admitted to the hospice program are seeking palliative care and symptom management at the end of life, and include patients with terminal illnesses of all types. The patients may be based in their home or the home of a loved one, or they may reside in a facility. |

Additional Information:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (B.S.) preferred. Associate or Diploma degree in Nursing required. Two years of med-surgical, critical care or home health experience, and current NC registered nursing license required.
Valid NC driver’s license, CPR certificate, and proper Certification/Licensure as required by regulatory agencies, as well as working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, including JCAHO and DFS standards and ICD-9 Coding needed. |
