Duke Has Great Benefits

Getting Started

Once an offer is made by the hiring manager, an official letter is sent followed by appointments to schedule the pre-employment health screen, and arrange a time for completion of all paperwork, including authorization for a criminal history check, payroll information, and scheduling of orientation. To complete the new-hire paperwork, please make sure you bring the following items:

  • current RN license
  • current BLS certification
  • current NCDL
  • copy of your auto insurance
  • your Social Security card
  • copy of your nursing diploma or degree

When you attend your pre-employment health screening, please bring a copy of your immunization record and personal identification (NCDL or other picture ID).

In addition to a New Employee General Orientation, each entity includes site-based nursing orientation. Check the calendars below for the orientation schedules at each entity. You will receive a letter stating the date, time and location of your orientation.
